Comprehensive Clinical Practice Guidelines for Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP)
The VAP Guidelines Committee and the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group
Evidence-based comprehensive clinical practice guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of ventilator associated pneumonia were recently published in the Journal of Critical Care Medicine. By using a multidisciplinary approach, each of the three content areas were systematically reviewed and updated to reflect new literature. Recommendations regarding several practices and interventions are made.
